Located on the waterfront in Greater Manchester, the Lowry is another theatre option, bringing together performing and visual arts as well as restaurants and art galleries under one stainless steel roof.

For the clubbing community, Manchester is a treasure trove. Dozens of clubs are open late to cater to the single, gay, older and other wise. Musicians and acts from all over Britain and Europe enjoy a warm welcome when they come here.

Manchester Art Gallery is home to such works as Turner, Henry Moore, Gainsborough and Dante Gabriel Rossetti to name a few.

Urbis is a new kind of museum in an ultra-contemporary setting. Explore four floors of interactive exhibits that delve into life in a variety of cities around the globe.

The Imperial War Museum offers thought provoking exhibits that showcase the impact that war has had on twentieth and twenty-first century society

Town Hall, home of the Manchester City Council, is a Neo-Gothic palatial style building that is a museum of stained glass windows, sculptures, carved stone and paintings.

Tatten Park and Lyme Park are two of England’s oldest estates that present extensive gardens and views for the visitor, as well as buildings of interest for the architecture-minded.

Heaton Park and Hollingworth Lake Country Park both offer boating and walking venues. Heaton offers a golf course and working tram. Hollingworth boasts a view of the Pennines and the M62 Motorway.

Along with Manchester United, the area offers American Football with the Manchester Titans, Manchester City Football Club as well as a variety of golf courses and cricket clubs.
